Introduction

During the pandemic the services were suspended and  they are now being held at Brandon Methodist Church  at 10.30am

New Brancepeth (formally known as Sleetburn) has a membership of 9. The chapel is the first building you see when entering from the west. The chapel was built in 1877. The chapel has always played an important part in village life. The congregation prides itself on its caring attitude and continues to seek new ways of worship and service in the community.

New Brancepeth Methodist Church enjoys a strong working relationship with the Anglican Church in the village (St Catherine’s), the centre-piece of this relationship being the joint Carol Service. As part of Outreach we hold more joint services in the Village Hall in conjunction with our Anglican friends.

On May 18th and 19th 2007, we held a Flower Festival in our Chapel. This was very well supported by Churches of all denominations and also other organisations. In total, twenty six groups provided and staged an arrangement depicting various aspects of their church life. It was a very successful event drawing many visitors and friends to see displays of flowers that were truly stunning. The Wesley anniversaries of 2007 were well marked by this event. We thank all who supported us and enjoyed the fellowship over the weekend.
