Introduction

Deerness Valley Methodists are an amalgamation of three chapels in the local area.  Members and friends meet regularly to worship and serve God and provide opportunities for a variety of social activities. There is always a warm welcome for more members or visitors.

Service times

Sunday Worship 10 am between the chapels see the Preaching Plan for venues each week

We worship as a small group often traditionally but with some services in a Cafe Style or some as Bible studies.

Sunday 4pm – last Sunday of the month – Messy Church a Brandon

This is for all ages and offers an activity and celebration style followed by tea. All are welcome with children accompanied by an adult.

Directions: The Chapel is situated in Carr Avenue, Brandon and can be found by taking the A690 out of Durham towards Crook, passing through Nevilles Cross and Langley Moor. Once in Meadowfield, take Carr Avenue (the second right hand turn just past the second pelican crossing). The chapel is situated towards the top of this road on the left hand side.

in Esh Winning Deerness Valley Methodists meet on the second Sunday at Hamsteels Community Centre monthly in Western Avenue, Esh Winning, Co. Durham, DH7 9LS  We are located just off the B6302 Newhouse Road.

Bearpark – George Terrace, Bearpark, DH7 7AQ

Directions: Follow the A167 from Neville’s Cross, turn left at the traffic lights just past Sainsburys.  The road leads to Bearpark (and on to Ushaw College). Continue a short distance past the car showroom/garage, the chapel is on the left beside the Busy Bears Nursery and almost opposite the Community Centre which has a large steel wheel displayed.
