Introduction

Since the March lockdown  the church family have continued to support the community even though activities have not been able to take place within the building itself.

  • 912 weekly telephone contacts to those living alone in Witton Gilbert, Langley Park and New Brancepeth, both written and recorded
  • prescriptions collected and delivered
  • food delivered
  • lifts to GP and hospital appointments

Thanks be to God for the continuing support from the church family of Witton Gilbert Methodist Church.

Witton Gilbert Methodist Church is a small and very visible feature of the village, being situated at a major road junction. It has been re-ordered to be flexible for the needs of worship and community use. Various groups in the community, including WI and drama club who regularly use the hall.

A new kitchen and a toilet for disabled people have been installed. We are putting the kitchen to good use by welcoming the people of the village to monthly coffee mornings and, from time to time, we invite them to join us for fellowship and a three course meal.
