Introduction
Under the new vision Sunday worship services are now being held Hybrid style at the Elvet site at 10:30am and the North Road site at 4pm. Please check the website for details of services. We are exploring a circuit re-organisation and we are now one church on two sites and we look forward to welcoming you to Durham City Methodists. We are a gathered congregation pooling our resources to further the Kingdom of God here on earth.
North Road Methodist Church has an average congregation of about 20-30 worshipping each Sunday afternoon. A gathered congregation, people come from various parts of Durham to worship at North Road and all are made very welcome.
Although rightly proud of its history, North Road sees itself as a church committed to telling people of the good news of Jesus to people in the 21st Century. We offer a wide variety of worship on Sundays and in the week. As a gathered community, we acknowledge the importance of fellowship with one another – to share one another’s joys and sorrows. We constantly look at our programme to ensure we are meeting the needs of those who attend and see if we can offer anything else to the people of Durham.
We believe that God has something to offer all people and want to share that good news with others. North Road has a long tradition of “sound” theology, standing as it does close to the University – however, we do not think this should mean “boring”
